A Freshly caught Fairy ..... with a doily!

I remember years ago in my Granny's house how she would have a jug of milk on the dinning room table and have one of these doily's over it.  So when I saw these doily's in Avoca it brought back so many lovely memories.

A Freshly caught Fairy ...... in a tree house!

Here's my little Fairy beside the kid's old tree house.  I'm afraid this tree house is now redundant as my kids are teenagers now and are beyond playing in it.  Sometimes my younger nieces and nephews come over and play in it.

A Freshly caught Fairy.....with a good book

Today's photo of my little Fairy is with a book I recently purchased.  I am loving this book it is by the beautiful Susannah Conway .

Susannah is a photographer and author and also runs e-courses.  I have been following her blog for a while as I just adore her photography, especailly her dreamy polaroid images.

This is what they are saying about her book "This book is about unraveling the layers of our lives, delving beneath the surface in order to better understand ourselves, our relationships, and our path. Author Susannah Conway uncovered this process following a tragedy—the sudden death of the man she loved. In sharing her journey of self-discovery first through her blog, then her online courses, and now in these pages, she reveals how grief reshaped her life and led her to reconnect with her creativity, make peace with her past, and learn to appreciate herself.

This is a guidebook of sorts, a collection of thoughts and theories, each chapter culminating in a small creative exercise for the reader to reflect upon and apply to her own life. The author’s signature dreamy Polaroid images are also included throughout. Conway reminds readers that they are not alone, that living mindfully is a process, and that unraveling is not about coming undone or losing control, but rather letting go in the best possible way. By untangling the knots that hold you back, unearthing the potential that’s always been there and ditching the labels and should-haves you can let yourself be who you were always meant to be."  http://www.susannahconway.com/

I'm also looking at this book too by Susannah:

A Freshly caught Fairy.......on the train

Here's my little Fairy on the train and keeping us company is my darling daughter.  I'm sure people on the train were thinking has this one lost the plot altogether!  Spent a few minutes trying different settings on my camera so that I could blur the background.

A Freshly caught Fairy.....on a bike.

Here's my Day 2 picture my little fairy on a Vintage bike.  Love these bikes - they seem to be popping up everywhere.  I was passing our local church the other day when I noticed that they were setting up for a wedding and outside the church door was a fabulous vintage bike with a huge basket of flowers.  Anyway I'm afraid my poor little fairy is out of focus.  I was so anxious to get a photo of her on the bike that I hadn't focused right - maybe next time.

Photography.....Genres Demystified

I have started another new on-line photography workshop with Cheryl of Feelgood Photos - Genres Demystified.  It also includes a 30 Day Photo Challenge, with a twist.  You have to include an object that means something to you, in each photo, every day.  So I have decided to go with a "Freshly caught Fairy".

I got this Fairy back a few years ago for my daughter Chloe - we are still trying to work out when we got it.  I bought it in a craft stall in Galway and would you believe we were in Galway at the weekend and that same craft stall is still there with all their little "Freshly caught Fairies" hanging on tree branches.  Oh, and they also have the most adorable handmade Owls.  Then I was browsing on the web and found their website Away with the Fairies and I see that they have a shop "The Secret Garden Fairy Shop" in Kinvara, Co. Galway.  Guess who is off to Kinvara soon.........

Photo Booth......

Had great fun doing these photos.  My niece Hannah was minding her younger cousins for the day and was trying to come up with ideas on how to keep them occupied.  Well as it was Week 4 of Beautiful People with Cheryl of  Feelgood Photos, I offered to keep them 'amused'.  Well, Hannah was all for it - looking for some photos for her facebook profile.  Roisin was up for it too but Mark was a bit hesitant but then he got into it.
